I have never not liked Din Tai Fung. Honestly everything on their menu (that I have tried) has been delicious and they crank their food out so quickly. I especially like the Xiao Long Bao and Rice Cakes but the Sticky Rice Dumplings are out of this world. Their garlic green beans are insanely addictive and will have even the most vegetable-averse asking for more. If you need a sweet treat at the end of your meal (which we all do), opt for the Red Bean and Mochi Dumplings. I don't normally like mochi, but it is only a thin layer and the red bean filling is to die for. It is not everyone's cup of tea, but in this picky-ish eater's perspective, they are one of the best things on the menu you and I would happily go to Din Tai Fung just for them.

If there's a long wait, which often their can be during peak hours, just trust me when I say it is worth the wait.

I've been to this location a few times over the course of many years.
I always like to order their fried noodles. It comes in a tiny little plate and is gone before the waiter leaves to get us more hot tea.
Their vegetarian dumplings come in a large bamboo steamer. You open it up and breath in the steam to fog up those glasses, you look down to see just few pieces. Its almost like they were so good the staff ate them before serving them to us.
After enjoying a nice meal and service from their friendly staff, I pay my bill. Wallets left dry.
I scrap what cash I have left and go to JJ Bakery. I'm starving.

The rave reviews are warranted. I have to admit- after trying this place once, I wasn't all that impressed. However, after returning several times and trying much more of the menu, there's a lot of quality dishes that are better than most dim sum places.

Obviously most folks come here for Xiao Long Bao but one of the standouts to me are the pork and shrimp wontons in spicy sauce. The fried rice is also not too greasy, and the cucumber salad is really refreshing/nicely marinated. The wait times vary, but you can make reservations at the Arcadia location for groups of 6 and under. Service is also better than most Chinese dim sum spots so that's great. The boba tea drinks are also surprisingly good.

This place is so consistent on the flavours and quality of dumplings which are probably the only place you can get handrolled dumplings that are made daily and you can actually see them doing it as you walk into the restaurant our favourite are the chicken dumplings and the chocolate desert dumplings of course all the size and vegetables also have an amazing flavour and not greasy like the usual Chinese restaurants

Our plan was to go to the one at the mall however parking was a mess since it was a holiday so we went to this one instead. The wait was about 30 minutes which we were prepared for. We didn't know they had takeout otherwise we would have done that! Once we got seated it was pretty fast, we had all been before and we knew what we wanted. The dumplings were great and the spicy shrimp dumplings are my favorite! The XLB are always good so we got a couple of those and we got dessert for the first time. The red bean dumplings were good but definitely couldn't have more than a couple. Wish the wait wasn't so long but will definitely get takeout next time I'm craving!
